Where to Stay for Volleyball, Cheer, Dance and Gymnastics at the Sevierville Convention Center

October 27, 2026

The Sevierville Convention Center

If your athlete plays club volleyball or competes in cheer, dance or gymnastics, you already know the Sevierville Convention Center. It hosts K2 Volleyball weekends from January into May, cheer and dance championships most weekends from February to May, dance nationals in June and July, and the UCA Smoky Mountain Championship cheer competition in December. On those weekends, the rooms near the center fill up fast.

We’re the hosts of Firefly Hollow Cabin, a three-bedroom vacation rental cabin on a wooded ridge in Sevierville, next door to Pigeon Forge. Here’s why team families keep booking it, and how to make a competition weekend easier.

Firefly Hollow Cabin: 4 minutes to the floor

The cabin is 1.2 miles from the convention center, about a 4-minute drive, with no steep mountain roads. That changes the whole weekend:

  • Sleep in before an early session. No leaving at dawn to beat traffic.
  • Go back between rounds. A long gap between matches, routines or rotations means lunch, a nap or a soak in the hot tub, and you’re back in your seats in minutes.
  • Forgot something? Run back for the uniform, the kneepads, the grips or the hair bow without missing warm-ups.

Share the cabin with another team family or two

Splitting a cabin with other families from the team, squad or gym is the best value of the weekend, and Firefly Hollow Cabin is built for it. It sleeps 11 across three bedrooms, and every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom:

  • The King Suite (first floor): king bed, streaming TV, en-suite bathroom.
  • The Double-Queen Suite (first floor): two queen beds, streaming TV, en-suite bathroom.
  • The Queen & Bunk Suite (lower level): a queen bed plus a twin-over-double bunk, en-suite bathroom. It opens off the downstairs great room with the arcade, ping-pong and games, so letting the kids take the lower level while the adults stay upstairs is always a good plan.

No waiting in line for the shower (or the mirror for hair and makeup) on competition morning, and every family gets its own space.

“We were minutes from the convention center where my daughter had a volleyball tournament. Check-in was easy, and the cabin was spotless. … One of the best things about the cabin is that each bedroom has its own full bathroom. We have another volleyball tournament in January, hoping to stay here again!”

Something for the siblings

Not every kid on the trip is competing. While the athlete rests up, brothers and sisters can take over the game room on the lower level of Firefly Hollow Cabin: a 4-player arcade, ping-pong, foosball and an Infinity touchscreen game table.

The same room has a 4K TV with a Blu-ray player for movie night. Upstairs there’s a second gas fireplace and a big dining table for a team dinner. After the last session, the cabin’s private hot tub is waiting for sore legs. See every room of the cabin.

“The downstairs arcade room and attached bedroom really provided the kids with their own area so that us adults could enjoy our time upstairs without it being so loud.”

Tips for a competition weekend

  1. Book as soon as the schedule is out. Popular event weekends fill early. We post 2027 event weekends on our convention center page as soon as they’re published.

  2. Coordinate with your team. Two or three families sharing one cabin usually costs less per family than separate rooms.

  3. Plan meals at the cabin. The full kitchen and grill save money and time compared with fighting the restaurant crowds on a competition night.

  4. Leave time for fun. Soaky Mountain Water Park is just 1.1 miles away in summer, and Dollywood is 8 miles down the Parkway.
